January 20, 2022

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment aimed at helping people understand their emotions, manage strong emotions in themselves (and others) and learn strategies to accept when there are situations that can't be changed. Join Dr. Lopez for a 4-week workshop that will provide an overview of emotion regulation techniques, strategies for accepting reality, and how to access your "Wise Mind." We'll talk through techniques for co-regulation in your classroom as well as things you can do for yourself. You do not need to attend all four sessions, but each week will present new information and skills.

This workshop will offer support, as well as help generate ideas to help navigate this stage of the pandemic in the classroom. We will combine a little information and validation of recent experiences to generate ways to help. We hope to combine some serious conversation with a little humor to help engage with a very difficult topic. This virus has some serious chutzpah, but we can get through it together!
