Four Years Ago

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been that long. It’s been almost four years since COVID upended life for everyone. We all had to learn about a “new normal” and four years later we’re still trying to make up for all that we missed during that time.

Our goal since we opened this program in 2020 is how to best support you. It has changed over the years. In 2020, our call/text line was by far our most popular service. Educators wanted support, advice, validation, and to ask for suggestions on how to keep their Kindergartners engaged through a screen (I still don’t know). In 2021, our most popular service was our online modules. I think people had gotten used to the on-screen world and were using their time to learn about mental health topics. In 2022 and 2023, our individual support sessions seemed to be what people most wanted.  As school returned to in-person learning and things did not feel so different, people wanted to work on their own mental health and how this time has impacted them. While our individual sessions remain popular, we have had a clear winner for this year – workshops! Yes, this seems to be the year of the workshop. We have talked with over 1,200 educators this year about work/life balance, managing burnout, secondary trauma, and resilience. It has been so fun to get to work with all of you in-person, offer some strategies, and hopefully prevent much of the burned out feeling that has plagued teachers, even pre-pandemic.

As we continue to come up with ideas and other ways to support you, we’d love to hear what you think. What do you need? How can we best support you? What have we not thought about that would help your wellbeing? Let us know if there’s some other way we could help. If nothing else, we’re flexible!

Maybe our favorite service for 2025 will be this blog… let’s see!
